1. Responsible Person
The responsible person is the Transport Manager for NZL Group Limited – Tony Cummins of Mount Maunganui who is responsible for:
- Ensuring that all activities covered by this RMP are implemented by all NZL Group staff to transport dairy produce/products.
- Ensuring that all staff, sub-contractors and contractors are conversant with all aspects of the RMP relevant to their role and responsibilities.
- Ensuring that all staff and contracted service providers and NZFSA assessors have unrestricted access to the latest approved version of the RMP and all documents referenced in the RMP.

2. Notification
- Changes to key personnel, as nominated above, will be notified in writing to NZFSA/RA within 1 week of the change occurring.
- Notification of any new, emerging or exotic hazards will be notified to NZFSA/RA within 24 hours of discovery.
- Notification of recall of product will be made by Fonterra to NZFSA/RA and Fonterra will communicate this to DTL.

No laboratories services are used.
5. Personnel
6. Health and Hygiene
Staff and sub-contractors are required to keep themselves and their clothing clean and hygienic, to prevent contamination of dairy produce/products.
Smoking is not permitted when handling dairy produce/products.
Staff are instructed how to behave and operate so as not to compromise the safety of dairy produce/products. The driver is responsible for ensuring that accompanying passengers do not compromise the safety of dairy produce/ products. The carrier is responsible for ensuring that any maintenance and cleaning contractors do not compromise the safety of dairy produce/products.
These requirements are documented in the carrier companies’ Health and Safety programmes.
7. Training
All staff are trained how to do their job. This training includes familiarity with:
- Land Transport New Zealand Truck Loading Code.
- New Zealand Transport Regulations.
- The requirements of the RMP relevant to their role and responsibilities.
- A record of this training will be kept by the company.
8. Failure to Follow the RMP
Staff must report failures to follow the RMP to the Contract Manager. In the event of staff failing to follow the RMP, the Contract Manager will ascertain why, and then decide an appropriate course of action, which could be further training or disciplinary measures.
Accompanying persons who fail to follow the RMP will be forbidden from accompanying a carrier again.
When the failure to follow the RMP may have compromised food safety, the Contract Manager will investigate the situation and take corrective action to ensure that dairy produce/ product that may be unsafe is segregated and treated as non-conforming produce/product.
