Shipping Container Handling - Making Dreams Come True
Making dreams come true is something you wouldn’t think of when you talk about container handling. But this is a lovely story about a wife’s dream to buy her husband an amazing gift for his 40th birthday.
Coming all the way from Long Beach, USA this bright blue camaro was packed into a shipping container reaching our shores 15 days later. Knowing it was on its way plus having to keeping such a huge secret just imagine the anticipation!
It arrived safe and sound at the Port of Tauranga on the 14th December and our
team set to work. The container transport division dispatched a swinglift truck to pick up this precious container cargo and within a short space of time delivered it to our warehouse division. These guys are experts at handling anything coming out of a container and being able to dispatch the goods or provide storage. With any container coming in from overseas they need to be fumigated.
At the same time this car container was fumigated a container holding caravans
from Australia was also fumigated. Take a look at our photos of the black widow spiders that were discovered in the container from Australia. This is the reason we need to fumigate and these guys were sitting pretty in the caravans all ready for a once in a lifetime holiday in kiwiland!
Once the car was fumigated the guys hoisted it up and gave it a wash which is all part of the service. Most vehicles coming off our on site wash end up looking brand new which adds to their beauty. Not one person on site could keep their eyes off it and all the boys were wishing their wives had bought them this stunner.
For our team of container handlers being able to be part of making someones’ dream come true is really cool – they understand how important it is to ensure this stunning car was handled with absolute care so the look on the birthday boys face was one of absolute joy!
If you are thinking of bringing a vehicle or anything similar into the country the beauty of the NZL Group Warehouse facility in Tauranga is you can be on site to see it coming off the container. Our team are only too happy to have you here on site to be involved and experience maybe a once in a lifetime event.
